Alexandria University Council  agreed at its meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Essam Kurdi,  president of Alexandria University, to provide scholarships for postgraduate studies to the university branch in N'Djamena (Chad), plus 2 scholarship for top five students .

On the other hand, Dr. Kurdi stressed the need for closer sporting achievements by the university during the forum of university students in Minya and activities Summer sports which organized by the Ministry of Youth during the summer vacation, also stressed the need to include sporting excellence within the strategic plan of the university.
